Daytime in St. Martin

Things to Do

The wedding events kick off in the evenings, leaving your daytimes free to explore. From the cove to the rest of the island, here's everything in store.

At Anse Marcel

All you need is the cove.

There are plenty of activities to do without ever leaving Anse Marcel — eat, drink, relax, and play, all within steps of your room.

01 · Eat

Dine on the cove

The on-site restaurant serves fresh seafood, French-Caribbean classics, and toes-in-the-sand lunches. Daily breakfast is included for wedding guests staying at the hotel.

02 · Drink

Sip something chilled

Beach bar service and cocktails on the beach. Frozen rosé, proper rum punch, or champagne with your toes in the sand.

03 · Relax

Tan, lounge, repeat

Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas are reserved for our group — kick off your shoes and settle in. The cove is calm, the sand is powdery, and the sun does the rest.

04 · Play

On the water

Sea bobs, jet skis, snorkel gear, kayaks, beach volleyball — the resort has it all on-property for the more adventurous. Creole Rock is just offshore for a quick snorkel.

05 · Wander

Hike to Petite Cayes

From the far end of Anse Marcel beach, the Sentier des Froussards coastal trail climbs through the French nature reserve and drops you onto Petite Cayes — a hidden, undeveloped stretch of sand. About 30–45 minutes each way. Bring water and sturdy sandals.

There’s plenty more within walking distance (just below), and rental cars are available at the hotel if you’d like to explore further afield.

Within Walking Distance

Just outside the cove

The Anse Marcel marina sits a short stroll from the resort — no car needed. A handful of useful (and fun) spots to know about:

Beyond Anse Marcel

Around the island

A few of our favorite spots elsewhere on St. Martin if you'd like to roam.

Just offshore · 5-min ferry

Pinel Island

A tiny, car-free island just off St. Martin's northeast coast. Catch the short ferry from Cul-de-Sac, post up under a thatched umbrella at Karibuni or Yellow Beach, and spend the day toggling between rosé, fresh-grilled lobster, and snorkeling the reef.

Inland · Pic Paradis

Loterie Farm

A lush, jungly retreat tucked into the hills above Marigot. Adventurous types can tackle the treetop ziplines & ropes course; everyone else can lounge by the cabana pools at Hidden Forest with a poolside cocktail. Book ahead.

10 min from Anse Marcel

Grand Case

The culinary capital of the Caribbean, and easily our favorite dinner town. White-tablecloth French restaurants line the main street — alongside the lolos, beachfront BBQ shacks grilling ribs and lobster for half the price. Do both.

Beach club energy

Orient Bay Beach

Two miles of powdery sand and turquoise water, with beach clubs strung along like pearls — Bikini Beach, Kontiki, Coco Beach. Rent a lounger, order a frozen cocktail, and watch the day go by. Water sports for the more ambitious.

French side · 15 min

Marigot Market

The capital of the French side has a Caribbean-meets-Provence feel: pastel buildings, fresh croissants, and a colorful waterfront market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Climb up to Fort Louis for the best view on the island.

French side · For the early risers

Pic Paradis

The highest point on the island at just over 1,400 feet. A short, leg-burning hike (or a careful drive up) rewards you with panoramic views over both sides of St. Martin and the surrounding Caribbean. Worth it for sunrise.
